John Hardin High School Cadet Staff Sergeant Lydia Loehmer was recently presented the National Defense Committee JROTC Certificate of Honor Award along with an accompanying pin and medal for Patriotism by Winnie Townsend Awards Chair Captain Jacob Van Meter Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown met May 6 at Stone Hearth Restaurant. Many of the ladies were dressed ready for the Oaks in their Derby hats and outfits. The private dining room was decorated with a Derby theme by hostesses Mitzi Crowe, Betty McQuown, Jane Curneal, and JoAnn Winkenhofer. Nora Sweat presented the devotional on the theme of Mother’s Day.

Members of the Rotary Group Study Exchange Team from Cologne, Germany were the speakers at the May 10 Elizabethtown Rotary Club meeting. The team is spending several weeks in Kentucky.
