Bob Swope, sponsor of the Heartland Music Festival Parade announced the winner of the 2011 Parade Theme Contest at the April Hardin County Chamber luncheon. The winner is Ruth Dixon of Elizabethtown.

The theme is “Education ExCELs in the Heartland.” Dixon, a retired teacher, said, “I chose this theme because ExCEL stands for Excellence in the Classroom and Education Leadership.” 

Wesley Hilltop House seniors had a drawing Feb. 17 for King and Queen. Each member wrote down their own name and a drawing was held to pick a King and Queen. The King was Joe Warren and the Queen was Donna Means.
