The Goldenrod Homemakers Club met April 12 at the home of Elaine Conder, the April hostess. Following the regular business meeting, Conder presented a lesson on military families. A question and answer session followed that included: What effect deployment would have on families left behind? What can homemakers do to help the families?

Members had a spring White Elephant Auction, to benefit a family that the club makes purchases for at Christmas time. Larry Crawford, auctioneer, volunteered to do the auction.

The Hardin County Republican Women’s Club will have State Rep. Addia Wuchner as the keynote speaker at the monthly meeting at 6 p.m.  April 19 at the Hardin County Public Library. In January 2011, Wuchner announced her candidacy for state auditor.

Fort Knox Federal Credit Union, a major supporter of the Veterans Tribute, welcomed the arrival of the Army soldier sculpture. For the next few months the sculpture will be on display in the lobby of the main office located on Dixie Hwy. and Route 313.
