The American Red Cross will offer the following classes in March. Classes are held at the Red Cross office at 405 W. Dixie Ave., in Elizabethtown unless otherwise indicated. For information or to register for a class, call 765-4979.
CPR/AED for the professional rescuer, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 5, Red Cross Office, 1131 Fifth Ave., Fort Knox. $65.
Adult, child and infant CPR/AED/ First Aid Basics, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. March 5, $60.
CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, 6-10 p.m. March 7 and 8, $65.

Radcliff Women participate in Mayor’s Breakfast

The Radcliff Woman’s Club was well represented at the Mayor’s Breakfast on Jan. 26.
The club set up a booth at the event and served ham and breakfast sandwiches to the attendees. In addition, several members were spread throughout the building. Elizabeth Tori was at the door greeting arrivals, Jeannene Shipp and Freda Trail offered donuts at the North Hardin Insurance table, Maria Batistoni offered muffins at the Radcliff Optimist booth and Julie Aldridge guided breakfast goers to the lower level where they could enjoy their meals at the tables set up there.

Zonta has February meeting at Pine Valley

The Zonta Club of Elizabethtown met in February at Pine Valley Golf Resort. The club’s service project for the month of February was the ExCEL Program.
Director of the ExCEL Program Pat Bohannon, gave a presentation at the meeting to explain the services provided and to accept items donated by club Zontians to be used in the program.

Valentine’s Dinner with Elizabethtown Fire Station No. 2

There were no sirens blaring or reason for the big rigs of Elizabethtown Fire Station No. 2 to be at the Allegro at Helmwood. No reason, except to receive a gesture of thanks. Allegro inspired Senior Living; invited heroes to its community for Valentine’s Dinner, a way to honor those who help keep the city safe.

Back graduates from basic training

BACK. Air Force Airman Custer Back III graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

He is the son of Custer and Deborah Back of Rineyville.

Back III graduated in 2008 from North Hardin Christian School in Radcliff.

Campbellsville University’s Dr. Wesley Roberts helps Elizabethtown Community Choir

Campbellsville University’s Dr. Wesley Roberts, professor of music, is helping the Elizabethtown Area Sacred Community Choir in its 10th season program with performances this Saturday and Sunday.

The theme for this year’s performance is “Melodious Milestones,” and the performances are free and open to the public.

The first choir performance will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown. The second performance is at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church in Elizabethtown.
