  • Potted Few Garden Club members meet

  • Miller speaks to Stitchers Quilt Guild members

    The Stitchers Quilt Guild had Bonita Hayes Miller, an agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance, as guest speaker at the March meeting. Members learned everything they needed to know about insuring their quilts. Many quilt were shown during show and tell.

    Stitchers meetings are from 6:30 to 9 p.m. the last Wednesday of the month at the Hardin County Extension Office.

  • Sullingers announce birth of son

    Andrew and Anna Sullinger of Georgetown announce the birth of a son, Austin Ryan, on Jan. 23, 2012. He weighed 8 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are George and Debby Clifford Day of Maysville; paternal grandparents are Dennis and Peggy Sullinger of Lexington.

    Great-grandparents are Frances Clifford of Elizabethtown and the late Paul Clifford.

    Ashley and Billy McDonal of Mount Washington announce the birth of a son, William “Liam” Thompson McDonal V, on April 7, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East. He weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Jeannie and Gerald Smith of Elizabethtown; paternal grandparents are Patty Graham of Elizabethtown and Billy and Becky McDonal of Mount Washington. Great-grandparents are Ralph Worley of Elizabethtown and Elaine Clark of Glasgow.

    Hello friends and neighbors, I hope all is well with everyone.

    FAREWELL. The Stephensburg Volunteer Fire Department hosted a dinner in April for the Spencers as a way to say thank you for the years the family owned and operated Spencer’s Market here in Stephensburg.

    For as long as I can remember, there has been a grocery here. The first one I remember was operated by the Pirtles. The Spencers took over for the Terry family and eventually moved to the location on U.S. 62 where the building is now.
