• Woman’s club donates funds for benches

    Club members and former Hardin County Library board members, Jean Davis, left, and Regina Lancaster, right, recently presented a donation from the Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown to Library Specialist Darrel Hines. The funds are proceeds from a club luncheon and style show in August and are payment for the two new benches located at the front entrance to the facility.

  • Woman’s Club, Christian Women’s Connection members host fashion show

    The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown and The Christian Women’s Connection partnered to be the guest clubs and models of the annual fall fashion show and luncheon Oct. 15 at Stone Hearth Restaurant.

    Fashions were provided by Christopher & Banks with accessories by The Bug’s Ear. Headliners Salon and Spa provided live demos of services. Other participating vendors included E’town Swim & Fitness, Tender Touch Senior Services, Mama and Me Publications and Nerium International. Door prizes were given away, as well as a several item grand prize.

  • VFW supports World War II barracks renovation project

    Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10281 voted to donate $2,000 to the World War II barracks renovation project on Fort Knox. This is a 63-man mobilization barracks, which was moved from its original place to an area on the grounds of the General George Patton Museum of Leadership at Fort Knox.

  • Logsdons celebrate 41st wedding anniversary

    Bobby and Carolyn Logsdon of Sonora celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary Oct. 30, 2012.

    They were married Oct. 30, 1971.

    They have three children, Bobby, Charles and Debbie; and one grandson.

    William and Crezilda Schlett and Darlene Ward and Kevin and Sharon McDaniel announce the engagment and forthcoming marriage of thier children, Kristi Schlett and Shane McDaniel.

    The wedding is at 3 p.m., Nov. 3, 2012, at Stephensburg Baptist Church with a reception to follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall on U.S. 62.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • Erica Rhodes to compete in Queen of the Commonwealth National Pageant

    Erica Renee Rhodes, a 17 year old at Meade County High School, will compete with ladies from throughout the nation in this year’s Queen of the Commonwealth National Pageant. Pageant finals are at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at the Bluegrass Entertainment and Exposition Center, 426 Sutherland Lane, Bardstown.

    The Queen of the Commonwealth National Pageant also is a toy and book drive for local women and children shelters and a supply drive for local animal shelters. Each contestant is required to donate a minimum of 10 items to the shelters during pageant weekend.
