    Have you ever wondered why it is if we are just a day late paying a bill, they charge us extra or discontinue our service, but if they cannot provide the service we are paying for, they do not provide us with a credit? For the last three weeks, my internet has gone down for at least a day and all they can say is “we are working on the problem.” I wonder if that will work the next time I can’t pay the bill?

    The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Central Hardin High School and a 2012 graduate of Western Kentucky University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education. She is a substitute teacher at LaRue County Schools.

    The bride-to-be is a 2005 graduate of Nelson County High School and is an instructional assistant at Bardstown City Schools. She is the granddaughter of John and Alene Thompson of Hodgenville and the late Leo and Margie Ball of New Haven.

  • Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown members participate in Hooray for Heroes

    Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown members recently participated in the Hooray for Heroes event in Radcliff. There was an excellent attendance for the event as the Woman’s Club booth had approximately 600 people stop and register for a large gift basket which included a book, "Mama and Me," written by member Nora Sweat and homemade jellies and baked goods.

    Elizabethtown Lions Club President Morris Bottoms presents the club’s annual check in support of Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana to Chris Sherrard. One opportunity afforded scouts was to travel and make new friends along the way. One scout, Kami, age 16, said, “If I had to pick my favorite part of the whole destination, it would be just being with the other girls. We came to San Diego as strangers, but made lifetime friends.”
