• Miss Hardin County Fair Pageant contestants

    The Miss Hardin County Fair Pageant is at 7:30 p.m. July 9, opening night of the Hardin County Fair. Miss Hardin County Fair 2010 Kaleigh Campbell will crown this year’s winner.

    Nineteen young ladies are competing for this year’s title. They include:

    Alysha Marie Benitez-White, 18, daughter of Jim and Lisa White of Elizabethtown, sponsored by her parents.

    Taylor Bennett, 21, daughter of Rick and Jama Bennett of Vine Grove, sponsored by her parents.

    Wow. This week has gotten off to a hectic start. With watering the garden, gathering vegetables, picking blackberries, Canning and freezing, I hardly know if I am coming or going. But I am so thankful to have all the food, to keep me busy saving it for a later date.

    Knights of Columbus, E.T. Murphy Assembly No. 1986, would like to thank everyone who participated in fundraising efforts this past year. With the help of the community we are able to assist veterans and their families in time of need. It is with great pride that each year we are able to donate U.S. flags to the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff. Our accomplishments are the combined success of our members and the community assisting us in raising funds.

    “Capitalizing on Cooperation” was the theme of the 2012 Kentucky Youth Seminar at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, and three local high school students did just that while gaining a positive experience at the state seminar for the American Private Enterprise System, better known as APES.

    The Democratic Woman’s Club of Northern Hardin County recently met at Radcliff Colvin Community Center for its annual men’s night. The program, food and entertainment was arranged and conducted by the men of the club. The ladies sat back and enjoyed the evening. More than 100 attended the event.

    Radcliff Mayor J.J. Duvall presented a certificate of recognition to Lois and Mike Weaver for their celebration of 50 years of marriage and for their contributions to the Radcliff community.
