    The children had beautiful days for their school vacation Monday and Tuesday. Was also had a beautiful day for the election, so hope you did your political duty and voted for the candidate of your choice. If we don’t vote we have no right to complain about things done, which we wish had been done differently. We voted and someone said they had about a 27 percent turnout at the St. John precinct at the Nolin RECC building where we vote.

  • Grandparents welcome Isaiah Lewis

    Dale Bickett and Kathy Goodrich of Radcliff and Lewis and Manuela Saunders of Killeen, Texas, announce the birth of a grandson, Isaiah Lewis Saunders, on July 19, 2011, at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He weighed 6 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Parents are Jerome and Kellie Saunders of San Antonio.

    Siblings are Cameron of San Antonio and Nadia of Killeen.

  • Parents welcome Brooklyn Paige

    Danny and Lori Knight of Upton announce the birth of a daughter, Brooklyn Paige Knight, on July 29, 2011, at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. She weighed 6 pounds, 15¼ ounces and was 20¼ inches long.

    She has a sister, Holly Ann.

    Maternal grandparents are Junior and Shirley Shirley of Edmonton, and paternal grandparents are Donald and Beverly Knight of Upton.

    Great-grandmother is Dora Carby of Elizabethtown.

  • Franklin named Lions Student of the Month

  • Rineyville Alumni Association has annual meeting

    The Rineyville  Alumni Association annual meeting and dinner was held Oct. 1 at Pritchard Community Center.  There were 263 in attendance. This year marked the 52nd anniversary of the association.

    This year the honored classes were 1941, 1951 and 1961.

    Marion Botto Tharpe, class of 1941, celebrated her 70th anniversary. She was presented a Rineyville School ornament and stand.  Those from the class who could not attend were Doris Buchold Witt of Louisville; Ethel Jenkins Jones of Brandenburg; and John Dink of Cincinnati.
