The drought is over in this area as we have had approximately seven inches of rain within the past week. According to Cecilia Masonet, we had 3.7 inches of rain Sunday evening within 90 minutes. Our front yard and field looked like a small lake for awhile, but we were so thankful for the rain. This should be enough for our late garden corn to mature well, since it is tasseling and putting on ears.

The kids are back to school and my house is quiet once again. It seems that I get so much more done in the time they are in school but I miss them terribly.

We received some much needed rain. Some places in the county got somewhere between two and four inches in less than an hour. The temperatures still heated up but cooler weather is in sight. Motorist need to remember to slow down when it is raining. Allow more time for yourself when heading to work or any place.

SCHOOL’S IN. Watch out for those yellow buses and drive slower. Hardin County and Elizabethtown schools are back in session.
