  • Radcliff Woman’s Club members participate in Radcliff Day Festival

    Radcliff Woman’s Club members pushed past a little rain to take part in the Radcliff Day Festival Parade on Sept. 24.
    Member Sheila Enyart chauffeured the club’s truck-entry along the parade route, while members Yvonne High, Pat Nuccitelli, Brenda McNary and Becky Brecht waved and threw candy to the crowd.

  • French speaks to Radcliff Woman’s Club members

    Betty Sue French of the Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown was the guest speaker at the Radcliff Woman’s Club meeting on Oct. 10.

  • Dr. Rahman is inducted into Lions Club

    Dr. Rafiq U. Rahman, sponsored by Ken Mizoguchi, was inducted into the Elizabethtown Lions Club on Sept. 13 by Past District Governor Tony Bishop.
    Rahman shared with the club how he is following in the footsteps of his father, who was an active member of the Lions Club for many years. Lion Rahman could be found among the club’s volunteers who recently gathered at Feeding America to work the “Back Pack Program,” which ensures school children in need have food for the weekend.

  • Radcliff Optimist Club has Garcia and Gibbs as guest speakers

    The Optimist Club of Radcliff recently held a club meeting with guest speakers Rudolph Garcia and Neal Gibbs, from the Hardin County School System.
    They spoke to the club about the Junior Leadership Corps (JLC). The mission of JLC is to influence students to be self-reliant and motivated to complete their education, establish jobs, careers and be successful, productive citizens.

    It is with deep gratitude that I thank United Way of Central Kentucky, E’town Paints and the six companies that provided the funds, creative ideas and manpower for Project United in which many spaces in the American Red Cross building, both inside and out, received a makeover, and The News-Enterprise for hosting the contest to declare a readers favorite.

    SCHOOL NEWS. Just a reminder school will be dismissed in the county on Monday and Tuesday.

    Lakewood Elementary School will have makeup school pictures Nov. 10.

    Also, don’t forget that Nov. 15 is Zaxby’s night for Lakewood. The school will get 10 percent of the profits taken in at Zaxby’s from 5 to 8 p.m.
