  • AUSA presents membership award

    H.Y. Davis IV, Executive Vice President of Magnolia Bank, accepts the five-year membership award from the Fort Knox Chapter of Association of the United States Army (AUSA) President Gene Gudenkauf. Magnolia Bank was recognized for its strong and continuous support of AUSA, soldiers and families.

  • Jones speaks at August Zonta Club meeting

    The Zonta Club of Elizabethtown met on Aug. 25 at Tony York’s on Main in Glendale. Special guest was Annette Jones of Hosparus. She explained the various volunteer opportunities with Hosparus and the training involved to be a volunteer. The club is making plans for their 18th Annual Golf Scramble on Sept. 18 at Pine Valley. The proceeds from the scramble will be divided between the SpringHaven Domestic Abuse Center and the Zonta Club of Elizabethtown Scholarship Fund. Golfers, hole sponsors and prizes are needed to make the scramble a success.

    The Radcliff/Fort Knox Convention and Tourism Commission and Elizabethtown Tourism and Convention Bureau would like to say thank you to the volunteers that staffed the Hardin County Tourism booth at the Kentucky State Fair, Aug. 18-28. The two tourism commissions sponsored and coordinated the exhibit, which showcased the arts and culture in Hardin County.

    Throughout the year I have been working with a number of parent volunteers from 18 counties in the District (5) region to prepare youth enrolled in the 4-H horse program for the State 4-H Horse Show  held July 2-9 at the Kentucky Fair & Expo Center in Louisville.

  • Andrews named GS 9-11 Employee of the Year

    ANDREWS. U.S. Army Cadet Command named Gayle Andrews its GS 9-11 Employee of the Year. Andrews is a supply management technician for 7th Brigade Headquarters at Fort Knox. She is one of 13 individuals across the country to be recognized by the command, which is responsible for for the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps and Junior ROTC programs.

    Mauritia Kamer, attorney for Stites & Harbison, left, with Elizabethtown Society of Human Resources Management E-SHRM president Kris Wood, spoke at the August meeting on skills for performing an effective investigation.
