  • Home Builders Associations presents Parade of Homes prizes

    Lincoln Trail Home Builders Association presented Parade of Homes door prizes to parade goers that visited all nine homes in the parade. Kathy Lowe was the winner of a set of vases and Kyle Fortune was the winner of a mirror, both sponsored by Paul Brantingham, registered builder. Monica Bybee was the winner of the grand prize of a gas grill donated by Lowes.

  • DAR hosts flag retirement ceremony

    The Scouts led by Lt. Col. JL Sedlak, conducted a flag retirement ceremony for the Captain Jacob VanMeter Chapter of the DAR.

    The ceremony is held to honor and retire the flag which has served its useful life as a symbol of freedom and our country. The Scouts did not “burn” the flag but retired it with honor.

  • Warm Blessing shares 'Empty Bowls'

    Pictured making a ceramic bowl for an upcoming Warm Blessings Soup Kitchen fundraiser is Elizabethtown Police Chief Tracy Schiller. Chief Schiller’s bowl, along with other community leaders handmade bowls, will be auctioned at a soup dinner, titled “Empty Bowls” on Jan. 14.

  • Edmondson speaks to DAR members

    On Sept. 16 the Captain Jacob VanMeter Chapter of the DAR was honored to have as their guest speaker, Col. Mauhee Edmondson. Col. Edmondson, who is the deputy commander for Mobilization Health Services, USA MEDDAC at Fort Knox, gave a presentation entitled “911 at the Pentagon”.

    The Northern Hardin County Democratic Women’s club members enjoyed three days of meetings with state Democratic candidates,  food and entertainment sponsored by the Nelson County Democratic Club and lots of great fellowship.
    Meetings were held at various locations around Bardstown, giving members an opportunity to see the best of the old town.
    The NHCDWC, for the third year in a row, won the state competition for best club scrapbook and club poster. The club also was recognized as a merit club for accomplishments throughout the year.
