  • Hazzard to attend President’s Leadership Seminar

    An associate professor from Elizabethtown Community and Technical College is one of 18 faculty and staff members selected to participate in a seminar to promote and strengthen leadership traits and advance the states 16 community and technical colleges as well as each participant’s personal and professional goals.

    Michael B. McCall, president of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System, released the list of invitees to his 2013 President’s Leadership Seminar, which begins in January. Michael Hazzard was selected from ECTC.

  • VFW provides background on Buddy Poppy Program

    Hopefully everyone has seen the red flowers VFW and Ladies Auxiliary members distribute throughout the year. The following is background information behind those flowers.

    Since 1922, the Buddy Poppy has been an integral part of the VFW community. As VFW’s official memorial flower, the Poppy represents the blood shed by American service members. It reiterates VFW will not forget their sacrifices.

  • Preston named student of the month

    East Hardin Middle School sixth-grader Preston Thomas was presented the November Glendale Lions Student of Month by Lion Barbara Hagan. Preston is the son of Chris and Laura Boozer of Elizabethtown.

    SpringHaven recently received a generous donation from the “Riders Against Domestic Abuse” organization. Pictured is the founder of Riders Against Domestic Abuse Eugenia C. Angibeau and fellow members donating gift bags and shelter needs.
