    This has been such an interesting, busy week for me, I hardly know where to start, and have made so many interesting pictures and have received interesting pictures along with news items, so here goes.

  • Pences celebrate 65th anniversary

    Fred and Kathleen Cundiff Pence of Elizabethtown celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on May 28, 2011.

    They were married May 28, 1946, by L.E. Martin.

    Mr. Pence is a member of Elizabethtown Church of Christ and retired from Dow Corning after 25 years.

    Mrs. Pence is also a member of Elizabethtown Church of Christ. She retired from Elizabethtown Sportswear after 20 years.

    They are couriers at Kentucky Neighborhood Bank.

  • Parents welcome Silas Brandon

    Hylo and Javonica Duvall announce the birth of a son, Silas Brandon, on April 12, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Siblings are Lindsey and Addison.

    Edward and Tammy Ramsey of Elizabethtown, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Katti Ramsey of Elizabethtown, to Steven Milesko of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2010 graduate of St. Catherine College. She is employed in cardiac sonography.

    The prospective groom is the son of Liz Milesko of Elizabethtown. He is attending Western Kentucky University and is majoring in pre-med.

  • Thomas celebrates 80th birthday

    Bill Thomas will celebrate his 80th birthday with an open house from 2 to 4 p.m., June 5, 2011, at Elizabethtown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 1525 N. Miles St., Elizabethtown.

    No gifts, please. Cards with memories would be appreciated.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    Jennifer Hawkins and Eric Deaton, both of Elizabethtown, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Rose Simpson of Elizabethtown. She is a 2008 graduate of Central Hardin High School and is attending Elizabethtown Community and Technical College. She is a CMA/CNA at Woodland Terrace Nursing Home and is a hospitalman in the Navy Reserves.

  • Andrews graduates from basic training

    ANDREWS. Army Pvt. Jeffrey F. Andrews has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
     A 2009 graduate of  Elizabethtown High School, he is the son of Kelly Andrews of Elizabethtown and brother of Luke Andrews of Wandering Way, Castle Rock, Colo.

  • Councilman Palmer meets with Congressman Guthrie

     Radcliff City Councilman Edward Palmer has been an advocate for youth from the local levels right up to the national level since his arrival in Kentucky in 1997. Councilman Palmer, while in Washington, D.C. at a Coalition for Juvenile Justice Conference, was able to meet with Congressman Brett Guthrie on Capitol Hill to discuss the budgetary appropriation of funds for the juvenile justice system and other youth-related issues.
