• Radcliff Woman’s Club has August meeting

    President Pat Nuccitelli opened the Aug. 13 meeting of the Radcliff Woman’s Club by welcoming the six guests present and asked them to join them in the evening of camaraderie with club members. The positive air of friendship was further extended by Yovnne High who presented the invocation.

    Member Mary Agnes Sears beamed with pride and joy when corresponding secretary Deoris Browder read a thank-you from Sear’s granddaughter, Teresa Maire Sears, a club scholarship recipient.

  • Garden Club members to host flower planting event today

    The Garden Club of Elizabethtown will host a flower planting event from 2 to 4 p.m. today, Sept. 19 at Allegro.

    Members from the Garden Club will work with the residents of Allegro and others in the community in putting together decorative planters. The pots of flowers will adorn resident apartment patios and balconies, as well as the main patio of the memory care unit.

    The Garden Club of Elizabethtown will educate participants about the different types of flowers to be planted and give tips on how to tend the newly planted flowers. Lunch will be provided.

    James and Amber Bergdoll of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a daughter, Lucinda Dawn Bergdoll, on Sept. 5, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    The wedding is at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 27, 2012, at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla. with a reception to follow.

    Amara Jenkins and Ryan Callison of Louisville were married Aug. 25, 2012, in Oak Island, N.C., by the Rev. Betti Jo Blackburn.

    The bride is the daughter of David and Freda Jenkins of Elizabethtown. The groom is the son of Phil and Ann Callison of Campbellsville.

    The bride was given in marriage by her parents. The flower girl was Olivia Goosman.

    A reception was at the American Legion in Elizabethtown.

    The couple will reside in Louisville.

  • McKnights celebrate 50th anniversary

    Billy and Monika Roder McKnight of Radcliff will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 17, 2012, with a ceremony on a cruise to St. Marten, St. Kitts, St. Croix, St. Lucia and Barbados with their children as witnesses.

    Mrs. McKnight is a native of Berlin, Germany, the daughter of the late Erika Roder. She is a member of the post chapel, sings in the church choir and is retired from the Army Air Force Exchange Service.
