    COBB. Air Force Airman Marquis E. Cobb graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. A 2011 graduate of LaRue County High School, he is the son of Stacey Martin of Elizabethtown and Martino Cobb of Hodgenville.

    OHMES.Air Force Airman Arthur J. Ohmes graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. A 2008 graduate of Meade County High School in Brandenburg, he is the son of Helen and Larry Ohmes of Vine Grove.

  • Club names 2011 Woman of the Year

    At the Dec. 12 meeting of the Radcliff Woman's Club, president Pat Nuccitelli announced Mary Agnes Sears was the recipient of the 2011 Woman of the Year award.  Cited were her many years of devoted service and her involvement in Kids Voting.
     Sears is a charter member of the club, having been involved in various aspects since 1962. She served as president in 1982, as recording secretary twice and as treasurer for one term.  She also was education chair once and arts chair twice. 

  • Women With a Purpose give back to the community

    Women With a Purpose made a monetary donation Dec. 16 to Pastor Timothy W. Brown, pastor of Greater Dimensions Community Fellowship, to aid in the organization’s vision of community outreach.
    The organization gives aid to those in the community who are in need, helping with such things as food baskets and toys, hoping to make a positive difference.
    Women with a Purpose has as its goal to make a positive difference in the community.

  • Potted Few Garden Club has annual Christmas dinner

    The Fort Knox Potted Few Garden Club met at the home of club President Anneliese Knoll in mid-December for the annual Christmas dinner meeting.
    Renate Gosser was co-host for the event. Many members brought their spouses, and everyone had a wonderful evening of great company, delicious food and a fun filled exchange of gifts.

  • Northern Hardin County Democratic Woman’s Club has Christmas banquet and installs officers

    The Northern Hardin County Democratic Woman’s Club held its Christmas banquet and in-stallation of officers at Colvin Community Center in Radcliff. More than 60 members and guests were in attendance. Wink’s Smokehouse catered the event. 
    Chef Winkenhofer presented Bev Rickey, club president, with a Kentucky Colonel’s certificate on behalf of Maria Batistoni, who was vacationing with family in Australia.  

  • Calvert receives mayor's Community Spirit Award

    Mayor J. J. Duvall, left, awarded the first ever Mayor’s Community Spirit Award to Volunteer Assistant Fire Chief Larry Calvert, right. Asst. Chief Calvert began his volunteer service with Radcliff Fire Department in November of 1979, adding up to 32 years of service.

  • Church members make 'Empty Bowls'

    Union Christian Church members from left, Barbara Emond, Barbara Finnicum, Mike Finnicum, Ramona Dever, Todd Self and LaDean Self are pictured at Warm Blessings Soup Kitchen after making bowls for the “Empty Bowls” fundraiser on Feb. 11. Church members also volunteer at Warm Blessings, serving meals and cleaning up each second Wednesday of the month.
