    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Darlene and Cecil Bailey of Big Clifty. She is a chef at Allegro at Helmwood.

    The prospective groom is the son of Jeanie and Tracy Bolin of Elizabethtown. He is a firefighter at Elizabethtown Fire Department.

    The wedding is at Valley Creek Baptist Church.

    We finally got some of the rain we needed. Hopefully there is more on the way, although it will be too late for some gardens. The pumpkins that are a big part of fall will need it.
       School starts next week for Hardin County Schools. The kids are not ready to go back and I am sure all the parents are not finished back to school shopping. The summer seems to have flown by this year.

    First Lt. Ashley Jenkins recently returned from her deployment to Afghanistan recently. Jenkins is the daughter of Staff Sgt.’s John and Barbara Jenkins of Elizabethtown and the granddaughter of the late Staff Sgt. Kenneth and Hedy Huffman of Radcliff. Lt. Jenkins is stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas.

    The Fort Knox Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars held its monthly meeting July 17 at its clubhouse on Fort Knox. MOWW is active in supporting youth development, scouting, excellence in ROTC, veterans activities and the meaningful education in the meaning of patriotism.
