Several times, at a family’s request, I have selected someone posthumously as One of Hardin County’s Finest Cooks and today, that is what I am going to do.
I can’t get away from fall-type recipes. With this being the last week of the month, it is time for Recipe Roundup.
During the Halloween season, treats are on the minds of kids and adults alike.
Thinking back to elementary school, some of my favorite memories are of school fall festivals.
Back in the day, they were the highlight of the year.

Some of our maple trees along the roadways are teasing us as leaves at the top begin to turn a magnificent array of colors. It is, after all, fall, and has been for a week or so.
When you think of fall, pumpkins may be the first fruit that comes to mind. But apples are a close second.
It’s the time of year when pumpkin is everywhere.
You can pretty much get anything pumpkin flavored, even ice cream.
Today, I bring recipes for a vegetable that is well-known this time of year.
The pumpkin is used in many fall displays and, of course, its famous role as a jack-o-lantern.
I have a love-hate relationship with bread.
I love eating it, probably too much.
But in the past, it is a food I haven’t had success in making.
