  • James and Angela Routt of Sonora announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Rebecca Routt of Elizabethtown, to Jordan Scott of Summersville, son of Brian and Deanna Scott of Summersville.
    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Lindsey Wilson College with a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education. She is a fourth-grade teacher at Howevalley Elementary School.
    The prospective groom graduated from Lindsey Wilson College with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting. He is an accountant at Fowler-Durham C.P.A.

    Summer is finally here. The weather is hot and there is so much to do. I was out of town last week and this week I have gone to Louisville and Hodgenville every day. The next few weeks promise to be equally busy, but I am bound and determined to enjoy each and every day. I really hope all of you will do the same. Don’t be so busy that you forget to enjoy the summer with your family.

    The wedding is at 4 p.m. June 28, 2014, at Highland Sod Farm with a reception follows.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Hart County High School and the University of Louisville and is a business owner in Louisville.


  • Don and Linda Pierce of Radcliff will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 27, 2014.
    They were married at First Christian Church in McLeansboro, Illinois, in 1964.  
    Mr. Pierce is retired form Standard Register as plant accountant.
    Mrs. Pierce is retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. and Fort Knox civil service.  
    They have one daughter, Stephanie Bowman, and two grandchildren.

  • John and Krista Westfall of Indianapolis, announce the birth of a daughter, Grace Elizabeth Westfall on May 14, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis.
    She weighed 7 pounds 1 ounce and was 19 3/4 inches long.
    She has a sister, Emma Lynn Westfall.
    Maternal grandparents are Larry and Veronica Rogers of Elizabethtown.
    Great-grandparents are Robert and LaVerne Thomas; Lelia Rogers and the late Tom Rogers.
