    As owner of Hicks Repair Service, Hicks, 88, has received visits from customers looking for lawn mower parts, friends looking for conversation over cups of strong coffee and even a rooster with a fondness for cherry tomatoes.

  • The National FFA Organization’s motto is “learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve.” Central Hardin High School’s FFA takes the “living to serve” part seriously.

    Members are active in supporting individuals and organizations in their community through fundraising events and, in some cases, donating their labor.

    “I think it’s good for these guys to get out in the community and really help someone,” advisor Derek Smith said.

    Timothy R. Smith, 37, Elizabethtown, and Jennifer L. Jones, 33, Radcliff. Married 10 years.

    Michael James McCune, 41, and Stacie Heather, 38, both of Elizabethtown. Married 11 years.

    Michael Bradley Skeeters, 25, and Deana Leigh Sessums, 25, both of Radcliff. Married five years.

  • The following cases of Driving Under the Influence and the resolution of those cases are found in Hardin District Court Division I in Elizabethtown. ADE is an abbreviation for Alcohol Driver Education, BAC is the Blood Alcohol Concentration reading, KAPS stands for Kentucky Alternative Programs, EIP stands for Early Intervention Program and VIP stands for Victims Impact Panel. A service fee is added to all DUIs and court costs are added to all charges. Birth year is in parenthesis.

    Melinda M. Hazelwood (1959). Theft by deception (four counts). One hundred-twenty days in jail probated for two years on conditions in the order. Court costs waived.

  • Hello to all. I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. I know I had a good time with my family. My daughter Jennifer cooked dinner and Alex, Brittany and I went to her home and enjoyed the day with her, Jeremy, Breanna and Jenna. As always the food was delicious.

    GET-WELL WISHES. Get-well prayers are going out to Louise Peters, Mitchell Grimes, Susie Witten, Alex Pullen, May Fern Ford, Raymond Johnson, Steve Pickrell and all others that I may not know about. If you have a loved one or friend that sick please let me know I will be glad to add them  to the list.

  •    Spring Break is over and the kids will be back in school tomorrow. Our family really enjoyed the time with the kids. We visited the zoo, went roller skating and spent time with friends and family. Although the house will need a few days to recover from the neglect! We are now ready for warm weather and pool season.
