    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Allen and Brenda Goggin of Danville. A 2006 graduate of Boyle County High School, she attended the University of Kentucky and graduated from Bluegrass Nurse Center in 2007 with a CNA license. She is employed at Commonwealth Cancer Center in Danville.

    Heather Nagy of Elizabethtown and Jawania Haycraft Jr. of Radcliff announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Thomas Nagy of Peoria, Ariz., and Barbara Nagy of Elizabethtown. A 2011 graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in systems management, she is an admissions counselor at McKendree University.

    On Tuesday as I write this, it is drizzling outside and turning colder, and speaking of perhaps a bit of snow. Oh well we haven’t had any measurable snow this winter for the children and children at heart to play in. Besides, we know it is just a little more than three weeks until spring officially is here, as well as Daylight savings time as well. I am glad to see longer hours of daylight.

  • Charles and Bobbie Janes Jessee of Louisville will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary March 19, 2013.

    Mrs. Jessee retired from Jefferson County Schools, where she worked in food services as a food service director. After retirement from JCPS, she worked on the farm and continued her work with the United Methodist Women and serving the local church. She also was active in the Adair County Homemakers.

    KENTUCKY WEATHER. It still can’t make up its mind on what we should have. Technically we still are in winter. Tuesday morning it was raining and lightning. Can there still be a chance of snow? Maybe.

    TIME CHANGE. Daylight savings time will begin March 10. That means moving our clocks up 1 hour at 2 a.m. or as most people do, before going to bed.
