    Helen Clark of Hodgenville celebrated her 102nd birthday June 16, 2014, at her apartment with family and friends.
    She was born June 16, 1912.
    She and her husband, the late Paul Clark, have five children, Geneva Viers, Doris Jones, Betty Allen, LeRoy Clark and Zelma Potts; 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

    Jim and Janet Lindsey of Elizabethtown will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today, June 22, 2014, with a trip out west.
    They were married June 22, 1974, at Pikeview Baptist Church in Hart County with the Rev. Billy Compton officiating.
    Mr. Lindsey is the son of the late Curt and Edna Lindsey. He is retired from Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown where he worked as an inventory control specialist.

  • Dan and Pat Walsh Priddy of Sonora will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary June 27, 2014.
    They were married June 27, 1964, in Mauldraugh.
    Mrs. Priddy is a retired nurse. She enjoys quilting, reading, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
    Mr. Priddy is retired from CSX Railroad and farming. He enjoys woodworking, pestering his grandchildren and restoring old cars.
    They attend Summit United Methodist Church.

  • SANTIAGO-VIDAL. Navy Seaman Recruit Kevin Santiago-Vidal, son of Reinaldo Santiago of Cecilia and Brenda Vidal of Chelsea, Massachusettes, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2011 graduate of Chelsea High School in Chelsea.

  • WILLIAMS. Air Force Airman 1st Class Janelle  Williams graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.A 2013 graduate of Central Hardin High School, she is the daughter of Joann and Herb Williams of Elizabethtown.

  • Boy Scouts from Troop 221, Cub Scouts from Pack 221 and Venture Crew from Crew 221 and leaders gather after participating in Memorial Day ceremonies on May 24 at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff. Scouts placed flags in front of headstones displaying honor and respect to the service members who sacrificed for our freedoms. Troop, Pack and Crew 221 meet at College Heights United Methodist Church in Elizabethtown.

  • OWEN. Navy Seaman Stephen M. Owen, son of Barbara L. Britt of Elizabethtown, recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Illinois. Owen is a 2004 graduate of South Lakes High School in Reston, Virginia.
