    On a recent field trip to historic Whitehall house and gardens in Louisville, several members of the Garden Club of Elizabethtown enjoyed a beautiful spring day while exploring the gardens as well as taking a tour of the house. The gardens are noted for their large collection of peonies in the spring and hydrangea in the summertime in addition to the Ralph Archer Woodland Fern Garden, featuring a Victorian stumpery and is home to an unprecedented regional collection of woodland plants.

  • Elizabethtown Lions Club secretary Karen Jacob White and Lion Jason Aaron insured that Lion Norman Jones and his family would be present for a surprise 85th birthday celebration April 24. Lion Charlie Lanz did the honors of recounting some of Jones’ career and personal highlights as well as recognizing PDG Lion Jones’ 55 years of service as a Lion. Jones thanked the club and expressed how much it meant to him to be a member of the Lion’s family and a resident of Elizabethtown, saying he wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.

  • The Woman’s Club of Elizabethtown presented certificates to two young students for being state winners in cultural arts events.
