  • Richard and Veronica Stith of Rineyville will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today, May 18, 2014.
    They were married May 18, 1974, at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown.
    Mrs. Stith, formerly of Bardstown, is a member of St. Brigid Catholic Church. She is employed by Save Rite Drugs in Radcliff and has been a pharmacist for the surrounding community for 40 years.
    Mr. Stith from Rineyville is a civil engineer who is retired from the Fort Knox Corps of Engineers and currently farms.

    Hello people, well my friends, It’s been a good week I have to say. No one I know has passed away this week and I am thankful for that. But there are so many things to be thankful for.

  • Congressman Brett Guthrie announced that Devonte Eugene Duncan of Brandenburg received an appointment to one of our nation’s service academies.
    “It was a great honor for me to notify Devonte of his appointment,” said Congressman Guthrie. “Devonte will make an excellent cadet.”

  • On April 24, I went to the emergency room at Hardin Memorial Health because I had been experiencing abdominal pain all day long, which had since migrated to my right side.
    After the ever-present waiting period, I was seen by Dr. Dishaw and nurse Christina who did an initial evaluation and sent me for a CT scan. After reading the results and consulting with other doctors, Dr. Dishaw advised me that I had a very inflamed appendix and was scheduled for surgery.
    His manner was very down-to-earth and informative of what was about to take place.

    Kenneth Charles Luce, 28, LaGrange, and Michele Renee Engels, 40, Radcliff. Married eight years.

    Darrin L. Bradley, 47, Fort Knox, and Daphne Bradley, 45, Elizabethtown. Married 13 years.

  • Rick Bennett, Fort Knox Federal Credit Union Pershing Branch Manager, left, receives a certificate of appreciation from Brigade Commander Col. Bill Ostlund. The Credit Union was honored for its support of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, during its time at Fort Knox.
     

  • The Fort Knox BOSS ( Better Opportunities for Single Soldiers) program members visit residents of Atria Assisted Living to enjoy a lunch with veterans. The young soldiers enjoyed listening to the stories the seasoned veterans had to tell.
