  • Pictured with Optimist Club of Radcliff President Anthony Conder, are CASA Advocate Coordinators Debbie Smith, center, and Caitlin Embrey, right. They spoke at a club meeting about their organization, CASA of the Heartland.  They do an amazing job caring for those kids that can easily get “lost in the system.”

  • During the March Stitchers Quilt Guild meeting the members were treated to a talk by Martha Claycomb on Underground Railroad Quilts. Quilts were used as signals to those traveling the Underground Railroad.

  • Sings and thoughts of spring abounded in the silent auction items at the March 8 meeting of Mu Chapter of The Delta Kappa Gamma Society International.

    Members bid on and purchased 45 different donated items in the annual fundraiser to benefit the recruitment grant which benefits a young woman entering the educational profession. Becky Bishop and Kim Shumate coordinated the auction.

    President Lois Pierce conducted the meeting. Members made preparation for Alpha Gamma State convention scheduled for April 11-13 in Paducah.

  • JOHNSON. Tre’von M. Johnson, graduated from basic military training and AIT at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

    He is a 2013 graduate of North Hardin High School.

    He is the son of Pamela Johnson and the grandson fo Martha and John Dinwiddie.

  • RIDLON. Captain Michael George Ridlon is congratulated by Brigadier General Haley on graduation from the Captains Career Course in Fort Lee, Va., on March 21.

    Capt. Ridlon graduated from John Hardin High School in 2005 and the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, N.Y., in 2009.

    He is the son of Bill and Pam Ridlon of Elizabethtown.

  • STUMPH. Air Force Airman Timothy J. Stumph graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio, Texas.

    Stumph is the son of Sherry and Timothy Stumph of Rineyville.

    He is a 2013 graduate of North Hardin High School.

  • ATTERBERRY. Air Force Airman Austin L. Atterberry graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio. A 2008 graduate of Central Hardin High School, he is the son of Sharmin Lush of Cecilia and Stephen Atterberry of Elizabethtown.
