  • The 2011 Hardin County Legislative Breakfast was April 9 at The Cecilian Bank, Hillcrest Banking Center.  Hardin County Chamber of Commerce and Kentucky Farm Bureau sponsored the breakfast.  Local FFA students served in hosting and all proceeds benefitted the club.  In attendance and pictured are Rep Dwight Butler, 18th District, Senator Dennis Parrett, 10th District, Ray Allen Mackey, Kentucky Farm Bureau, Brad Richardson, Chamber President/CEO, Rep Tim Moore, 26th District, and Rep Jimmie Lee, 25th District.

    I have heard the saying all my life “It rained cats and dogs,” where it came from I have no idea. But I think the rain we had this past week measured up to that. Tuesday morning our rain gauge showed we had at least 3½ inches of rain. But we lucked out again and had no severe weather otherwise, as was the case in many places.

    The bride is the daughter Rodney and Glenda Kinslow of Hardyville.

    The groom is the son of Robin and Martha Riggs of Upton.
