  • American Legion Hardin Post 113 Commander Al Maruszewski presents a donation to Ken Lucas, who is in charge of Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs and was the guest speaker at the second Veterans Day ceremony at the Veterans Tribute in Elizabethtown Nature Park.

  • The guest speaker at the Nov. 4 meeting of the Radcliff Woman’s Club was retired U. S. Army Col. Mike Weaver.  He was affiliated with the military from 1956 to 1992 and formerly served as Kentucky Representative of the 26th District.

  • 4-H Livestock Club members Briann and Orry Williams exhibit their Shorthorn heifers at the North American International Livestock Expo during the National Shorthorn Show.  Briann’s black heifer “MF Black Magic” placed fifth in the junior plus and open plus show while Orry’s heifer “RobJoy Carmele” placed sixth.

  • East Hardin High School in Glendale opened its doors in 1962 with the first graduating class in 1963. Students came from Lincoln Trail, Sonora, Upton, Rineyville and Glendale to consolidate into a new high school. East Hardin served as a high school for 27 years with the last graduating class in 1990. A new high school, Central Hardin, was opened for the class of 1991 and East Hardin became a middle school.

  • The Potted Few Garden Club members from left, Marietta Iacocca, Kathy Gryglewicz, rear, Cindy VannAusdall, Joyce Kelly, Anneliese Knoll, Bonnie Gunter and Renate Gosser decorate a Christmas tree at Colvin Community Center for Radcliff’s annual Festival of Trees which was Dec. 7. Club members will have a Christmas dinner and final meeting Dec. 21 at the Elizabethtown home of Bonnie Gunter with Ria Malito as co hostess.

  • Radcliff Rotary Club President Fran Rolwing presents a check to Rotarian Bob Swope in support of Elizabethtown Rotary Club’s project to provide clean water in Guatemala. Swope said the club hopes to install four or five more water filtration systems in the coming year.

  • Rik Hawkins, center, presents Glendale Lions Club President E. G. Thompson a check for $5,000 from the Veterans Tribute Committee. Also pictured is Dan Tonietti, Glendale Lions Club member, who is in charge of arrangements for the traveling Vietnam Memorial Wall to be at the Veterans Tribute in Elizabethtown Nature Park over Memorial Day weekend in 2014. Glendale Lions Club is sponsoring the event.

  • Rachel Lachut was honored as the Radcliff Rotary Club Student of the Month in November. Lachut, pictured with club president Fran Rolwing, is a North Hardin High School senior with a 4.0 grade-point average and is the top student in her class. A Governor’s Scholar and National Merit Finalist, she also is a pianist in the concert ensemble. She hopes to attend Centre College and major in music education or English.
