    The weatherman keeps insisting we will get snow but we have yet to see a measurable snow. My yard has not bee adorned with a real snowman for several years now. The kids and I are hoping that changes this season.

  • Megan L. Cripps and Greg O’Daniel, both of Elizabethtown, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Debbie Cripps of Big Clifty. She is a licensed practical nurse and is pursuing an associate degree in nursing at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

    The prospective groom is the son of Mike and Carmen O’Daniel of Elizabethtown. He is a service technician at Cardinal Carryor Inc. in Louisville.

    The wedding is at 5 p.m. May 31, 2014, in Bardstown.

  • Donald L. and Betty J. Wright Vance of Elizabethtown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 10, 2014.

    They were married Jan. 10, 1964, at Buffalo Baptist Church by the Rev. Howard Matthews.

    They have one daughter, Karen V. Jury of Elizabethtown; and three grandchildren, Kyle, Spencer and Rebecca Jury.
