    Hello everyone, I hope things are going well. The weather has been nice and was good for garden planting. My son put out corn, cucumbers watermelons, squash, green onions and tomatoes. We will be happy when the fresh vegetables come in.

    STEPHENSBURG DAY MEETING. Remember the Stephensburg Day meeting is at 7 p.m. May 10, at the old school building. Everyone is welcome. Stephensburg Day is June 23. More details to come.

    WARMER DAYS. Is summer on it’s way? Flowers are in full bloom, bees buzzing around and of course those pesty ants are back again. Lawns now are being mowed regularly. And by the way, dad found the lost Easter egg we couldn’t find, still intact. We had a good laugh about it.

    MOTHER’S DAY. Remember your mom on May 13. Make her day special whether it’s with a card, phone call or visit.

  • John and Krista Westfall of Owasso, Okla., announce the birth of a daughter, Emma Lynn Westfall, on April 12, 2012, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla. She weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19½ inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Larry and Veronica Rogers of Elizabethtown; and paternal grandparents are James and Maureen Westfall of Johnsburg, Ill.

    Great-grandparents are Robert and LaVerne Thomas, Lelia Rogers and Patricia Riley.
