    The bride-to-be, a 2010 graduate of Central Hardin High School, is a pharmacy technician at Apothecare Pharmacy.

    The prospective groom, a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy, is a pharmacist at Apothecare Pharmacy in Elizabethtown.

  • Capt. Andrew and Roslynn Betson of West Point, N.Y., announce the birth of a daughter, Olivia Jean Betson, on May 30, 2012, at Keller Army Hospital in West Point.

    She has a brother, Ethan.

    Grandparents are retired Col. Bill and Donna Betson of Vine Grove.

  • Mary Jo and Frank Mudd of Flaherty will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 8, 2012.

    They were married Sept. 8, 1962, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Flaherty.

    Mrs. Mudd is a homemaker and enjoys reading, crafts and spending time with family.

    Mr. Mudd is retired from Fort Knox. He enjoys gardening, in particular growing giant pumpkins and watermelons. He holds the state record for the largest watermelon at 274.5 pounds.

  • Darrin and Melissa Goodman of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a son, Parker Shane Goodman, on Aug. 8, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 9 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    Maternal grandparents are Gerald and Sheila Murphy of Hodgenville. Paternal grandparents are Ronnie and Carolyn Goodman of Cecilia.

    Great-grandparent is Ival Rainey.

    Though we still are having summer temperatures, fall is almost here, as badly as I hate to think about it. The fall colors are beautiful, but the beauty is dampened for me, because I know it won’t be long until winter.
