  • James Robert Nichols and Helen Louis Priddy Nichols celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 20, 2013.

    They were married Dec. 20, 1963 by C.C. Omar.

    They are graduates of East Hardin High School and are longtime members of Valley Creek Baptist Church.

    Mr. Nichols retired from Southern States in Hardin Co-op.

    Mrs. Nichols is a loving mother and grandmother.

  • Operation Homefront Tennessee/Kentucky, the local field office of the national non-profit organization that provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of service members and wounded warriors, gave 300 meals to military families as part of its annual Holiday Meals for Military program in Fort Knox. Operation Homefront’s local volunteers teamed up with other field offices across the nation to distribute a total of 7,500 meals to lower- and mid-grade active-duty service members from all branches of service.

  • Three local musicians have Nashville dreams as they share the stage in a newly formed group, Seven to Shine.

    Zac Charles, Josh Proctor and Rebekah Lynn had solo careers of their own until they teamed up three months ago to form the country band.

    Charles posted a flyer at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College about wanting to form a band. Proctor saw it and they decided to work together. They decided they needed a woman to produce the sound they wanted. Proctor previously worked with Lynn, and it all came together.
