  • KANDAHAR Airfield, Afghanistan — Members of the 533rd Engineer Detachment, Forward Engineer Support Team-Main have completed 220 engineering projects in Afghanistan since deploying April 4 from Fort Knox. The count is continuing.

    Maj. Gen. Kendall P. Cox, commander of Transatlantic Division, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, praised team members March 1 at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan.

    “You guys are phenomenal. Completing 220 projects is huge,” Cox said.

  • Gerda Gardner of Radcliff and Tyrone Gardner of Fort Mitchell, Ala., announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Jessica M. Gardner, to Joshua M. Cooper, son of Patricia Cooper of Radcliff and Jerry Cooper of Greenville, Miss.

    The bride-to-be is a 2011 graduate of the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s degree in social work. She is pursuing a master’s degree in social work at U of L.
