Happy New Year everyone. We got off to a wintery start with snow flurries and slick roads Monday evening. I’m glad we didn’t have to be out, for I hear they were pretty treacherous in some places. If this year passes as quickly as the past one did, it will be summer before we turn around. But then winter never can pass quickly enough to suit me.

A LITTLE SNOW. I’m not the biggest fan of snow, but it’s pretty coming down. I just don’t like it on the roads. Last Monday night the roads were slick because of the cold temperatures.

Remember to put straw in your pets’ houses if outdoors to keep them warm and give them fresh water every day. Don’t assume the iced water will melt.

ROOK. Rook is played at 7 p.m. each Thursday at the HowevalleyVertreesCommunity building. Everyone is welcome.
