  • Mike Roos discusses and signs copies of his book “One Small Town, One Crazy Coach: The Ireland Spuds and the 1963 Indiana High School Basketball Season,” from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday at Barnes and Noble in Elizabethtown.
    The book is an underdog story about Coach Pete Gill and the Ireland High School Baseball team in Indiana. It follows the 1962-63 season that did not hold much hope in the beginning, according to a news release.

  • Comedian James Gregory will be working for laughs at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Historic State Theater in Elizabethtown.

    Gregory is on the road 46 weeks a year performing a comedy act that takes folks back to a simpler time when people sat on the porch and talked to one another without a cellphone, according to a news release.

    He also can be heard weekly on popular radio shows such as “Rick and Bubba,” “John Boy and Billy” and “Bob and Tom.”

  • During this season of Thanksgiving, the Youth Theatre of Hardin County would like to thank the Hardin County community for the continued support we receive. Our 42-year history of being the oldest Kentucky Youth Theatre program, has only been possible with the encouragement and support that we receive from our many patrons.

  • Allegro Dance Theatre presents the happily-ever-after ballet Cinderella for the 22nd year Sunday.

    The ballet has sustained its appeal, in part, because it is a classic fairy tale, director Carol Zagar said.

    Sergei Prokofiev’s music is another lasting feature. He was a genius, she said.

    “Every time you hear the music, you hear something different,” Zagar said.

    KENTUCKYWEATHER.Let it snow! Well, not much happening there but we did get a little on Nov. 12. They are predicting more on Dec. 6. Brrrr, but it really has gotten colder but it’s suppose to warm up again.

    I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving. We should all count our blessings every day. God has blessed me and Cory with a healthy, beautiful daughter. She has brought so much joy to our lives.
