  • Pansy Daniel celebrated her 86th birthday July 1, 2012, with her eight children, Bonnie Limer, Janice Fulkerson, Ricky Daniel and Mike Daniel, all of Elizabethtown, Chris Ridley of Auburn, Ala., Ronnie Daniel of Falls Church, Va., Gary Daniel of Westhampton, N.J., and Larry Daniel of Louisville and other family members.   • Ron and Gloria Compton of Elizabethtown celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary June 29, 2012.

    They were married June 29, 1967, in Lebanon, Tenn.

    They have seven children, Ronnie Compton, David Compton, Kim Coates, Kristi Comstock, Matt Compton and Sarah Beth Compton, all of Elizabethtown, and the late Tina Compton; and 11 grandchildren.

  • Kenneth and Karolyn Sisk Hayden of Cecilia celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 23, 2012.

    They were married June 23, 1962, at Dawson Spring First Baptist Church in Dawson Springs.

  • To better understand ways to prevent cancer, the American Cancer Society is recruiting men and women across the United States and Puerto Rico for a landmark new research study — Cancer Prevention Study-3, CPS-3.

  • Jo Ann Hepperman was the guest speaker at the Elizabethtown Rotary Club meeting June 19. She gave a presentation on the subject of race horse ownership. Pictured are Jo Ann Hepperman and Elizabethtown Rotary Club President Michael Owsley.

  • A recent guest of the Radcliff Rotary Club was Rich Griendling of Elizabethtown. Griendling is the designer and sculptor for the Hardin County Veterans Tribute. The Hardin County Veterans Tribute will be a monument to show Hardin County citizens’ respect and gratitude to each and every veteran, living or deceased, who has served his or her country with honor and dignity, commitment, courage and sacrifice, so everyone can live safe and free. The Veterans Tribute will be located in the new Nature Park located on Ring Road, just north of Freeman Lake Park in Elizabethtown.
