  • Hardin and Karen Warren of Magnolia announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Tara Nicole Warren, to Justin Wayne Parsley, son of Tony Parsley and Wendy Huff of Shepherdsville.

    An outdoor wedding is at 2 p.m. EDT Sept. 8, 2012, at the Howell Family Farm, eight miles east of Hodgenville on Ky. 210 with a reception to follow.

    In the event of rain, the ceremony and reception will be at Mount Tabor Baptist Church in Buffalo.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    OUR VACATION. Cory and I, along with his mom, Cheryl Gilpin, and friends, Debbie and Twain Childress, Ashley Clark, Megan Stevenson and Sara Quinn, stayed a week in a condo at Gulf Shores, Ala. We also visited Pensacola, Fla. We ate at many restaurants, one favorite being Lamberts, which had great food. We enjoyed lots of swimming, walking on the beach collecting sand and seashells. We went on a dolphin cruise that was awesome and Cory went parasailing for the first time. We had a wonderful time. 

  • Carrie Grimes and Adam Underwood were married May 19, 2012, at Gospel of Grace Baptist Church in Hodgenville by Brother Dewey Keys Sr.

    The bride is the daughter of Mitchell and Charlotte Higdon-Grimes of Hodgenville. She is the granddaughter of Freddie and Mavie Jean Baker-Grimes of Glendale, the late Wayne Higdon and Clarence and Eva Williams-Locke of Hodgenville and the great-granddaughter of Elva Woosley-Baker of Elizabethtown.

  • Megan Bartley and Joshua Skaggs of Radcliff announce the birth of a son, Jackson Wyatt Skaggs, on July 16, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 14 ounces and was 20 inches long.

    He has two siblings, Joshua Skaggs Jr. and Sydney Skaggs.

    Maternal grandparents are Debbie and Paul Feavel of Radcliff.

  • Betty L. Alvey of Elizabethtown celebrated her 80th birthday Aug. 4, 2012, with a party hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Alvey of Lexington. Thirty-eight guests attended.

    She has two granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.

  • Continuing with the “Know Your Rotarian” series, Rotarian Pam DeRoche gave fellow club members a brief autobiography. DeRoche is the only Radcliff native still living in Radcliff in the club. In spite of her hometown status, her children are strung far and wide, from Minot, N.D., to Japan. A long way to visit grandchildren, she is thankful for Skype.
