  • A free premiere of a movie made by local production company Take 7 Films is slated for 6:30 p.m. Friday at Grace Heartland Church in Elizabethtown.

    “Dad the Hero On Vacation” is the latest in a series of films produced by Take 7 Films, which is part of the Family Builders International Ministries in Elizabethtown.

    The free premiere of the movie is followed by another showing at 7 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Historic State Theater in downtown Elizabethtown. Admission to the second showing is $3 and doors open at 6:30 p.m.

  • COBB. Air Force Airman Marquis E. Cobb graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. A 2011 graduate of LaRue County High School, he is the son of Stacey Martin of Elizabethtown and Martino Cobb of Hodgenville.

    OHMES.Air Force Airman Arthur J. Ohmes graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. A 2008 graduate of Meade County High School in Brandenburg, he is the son of Helen and Larry Ohmes of Vine Grove.

  • The King would have celebrated his 77th birthday Sunday, and despite being gone for 35 years, Elvis Presley fans have kept his legacy alive.

    Elvis tribute performer Eddie Miles believes there could be a number of reasons for The King’s longevity, but it might boil down to one thing.

    “Basically, the simple answer is the music,” he said.

    Elvis was charismatic and good-looking, Miles said, and he went beyond music into movies and TV specials.

  • At the Dec. 12 meeting of the Radcliff Woman's Club, president Pat Nuccitelli announced Mary Agnes Sears was the recipient of the 2011 Woman of the Year award.  Cited were her many years of devoted service and her involvement in Kids Voting.
     Sears is a charter member of the club, having been involved in various aspects since 1962. She served as president in 1982, as recording secretary twice and as treasurer for one term.  She also was education chair once and arts chair twice. 

  • After 16 years in the real estate business, Pam Featherstone has been recognized for her contributions.

    Featherstone, a Realtor with Network Realty who is moving to Semonin Realty, was awarded the title of Realtor of the Year from the Heart of Kentucky Association of Realtors.

    Featherstone has been in real estate since 1995, and involved on the board of the association for the past several years, including serving as board president for the past year.
