Several Elizabethtown NARFE Chapter No. 1050 delegates attended the Kentucky NARFE Federation Convention April 9 through 11 in Bowling Green. The theme was to “Live Healthy in Retirement,” and personal trainers were on hand to encourage delegates to keep moving to prevent complications from aging and being inactive.

As far back as I can remember, my mom has sewn.

She made dresses for my sisters and me, always in the latest styles and colors. Mom might use a paper pattern for a baseline, but she added her own unique touches. When I was a girl, some mornings I would wake to find a new Barbie doll dress on my night stand. When my boys were young, she made surf shorts for them in wild prints.

The Fort Knox Potted Few Garden Club Executive Board gathers to plan for the 2013-14 Club year to include field trips and community visitations. The club will meet at 10 a.m. today, May 15, at the Elizabethtown home of Bonnie Gunter with Ria Malito as cohost.
