    Like it or not, fall is with us. I never can really enjoy the beautifulness of fall, because I know that winter is following quickly “on falls heels.”

    REUNION. Recently the Long family reunion was held at the Cecilia Ruritan building with approximately 50 in attendance. A potluck meal was enjoyed by all, and a lot of enjoyable fellowship with family members.

  • Donald and Nina Kaelin of Rineyville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a short getaway.

    They were married Sept. 23, 1961.

    Mr. Kaelin is a farmer and avid golfer.

    Mrs. Kaelin is a retired rural letter carrier and a full-time “mamaw.”

    They have five children, Brian Kaelin of Allen, Texas, Bregitte Melvin, Bonita Yates and Brandy Hobbs, all of Rineyville and Bethany McLean of Louisville; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

  • Fletcher and Barbara Beard of Cecilia will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary from 3 to 7 p.m., Oct. 2, 2011, with a celebration in their honor at Holiday Inn Express.

    They were married Oct. 2, 1951, by the Rev. P.H. Busey.

    Mr. Beard retired after a career in the Army, sold insurance for Modern Woodman of America and is a farmer.

    Mrs. Beard is a homemaker and was an active volunteer for Hardin County Schools.

  • Bobby Joe and Chelsea Rene announce the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their parents, Darlene Rene Williams and Jeffrey Neal Beard.

    The wedding is at 1 p.m., Oct. 1, 2011, at the Miller farm on Miller Road.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

  • Angela Milburn of Mount Eden and Pete and Donna Milburn of Cox’s Creek announce the engagement and forthcoming wedding of their daughter, Shana Milburn of Mount Eden, to Jared Norton of Elizabethtown, son of Bob and Judy Norton of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2001 graduate of Corner Stone Christian Academy and a 2010 graduate of Kaplan University; she is employed at the state medical examiner’s office.

    The prospective groom is a 2000 graduate of Central Hardin High School and is employed at Budget Car Sales in Muldraugh.
