    Paul Crawford Connelly Sr., 85, of Elizabethtown, died Thursday, May 15, 2008. The funeral is at 11 a.m. today at St. James Catholic Church in Elizabethtown with burial in Elizabethtown City Cemetery. Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements. Lucy Margret Palmer, 74, of Radcliff, died Sunday, May 11, 2008. The funeral is at 1 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church with burial in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.

Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Matthew “Matt” Louis Brawner, 39, of Elysian Fields, Texas, formerly of Hardin County, died Monday, May 5, 2008. The memorial service is at 2 p.m. Saturday at Gilead Baptist Church near Glendale.

    Mildred Sallee Brook

    Mildred Sallee Brook, 93, of Sycamore, Ill., formerly of LaRue County, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb, Ill.

    Survivors include a daughter, Nancy B. Coffman of DeKalb, Ill.; and a son, Gilbert B. Brook Jr. of Greenbrae, Calif.

    There will be private graveside services on Friday at South Fork Cemetery in LaRue County.

    Bennett-Bertram Funeral Home in Hodgenville is in charge of the arrangements.

    Matthew ‘Matt’ Louis Brawner

    Matthew “Matt” Louis Brawner, 39, of Elysian Fields, Texas, formerly of Hardin County, died in Elysian Fields on Monday, May 5, 2008.

    He was born at Grissom Air Force Base in Indiana. Matt was a directional driller for the Multi Shot Directional Services in Texas.

    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence E. Atcher and Owen and Glenda Brawner.

    Emmett ‘Bud’ Bennett

    Emmett “Bud” Bennett, 70, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital surrounded by the family he loved so much.

    The Hardin County native served in the U.S. Army and owned Bennett Slaughter House. He was a Baptist, a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Quails Unlimited. He loved nothing more than spending a bright sunny day outdoors breathing in the air and watching his tomato plants grow.

    Lee C. Butler

    Lee C. Butler, 92, of Irvington, died Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the North Hardin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Radcliff.

    He is survived by his wife, Verona Butler; and four daughters, Doris Butler, Judy Sawyer, Marilyn Smith and Cindy Moore.

    The funeral will be at 11 a.m. EDT Monday in the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington with burial to follow Cedar Hill Cemetery in Irvington.

    Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. EDT today and after 8 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. Friday at Manakee Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with burial with full military honors in Jeffries Family Cemetery. Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and continues from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

      William Richard ‘Rick’ Bewley

    William Richard “Rick” Bewley, 55, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    He spent most of his life in Hardin County. He was the owner-operator of Outdoor Power Source, formerly Shelman Implement, for more than seven years. He worked for the state of Kentucky as an unemployment insurance auditor for 26 years, was a member of Youngers Creek Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel.
