Grace Louise Johnson, 89, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday March 15, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

She was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Marion Johnson; her parents, Alex and Ruth Naylor Lees; a daughter, Mildred Farris and a sister, Edith Burkhart.

Cova Van Meter Duncan, 87, formerly of Boston, Ky., passed away March 16, 2012, at the Live Care Center in Bardstown.

Mrs. Duncan was a member of Younger’s Creek Baptist Church, a native of Edmonson County and a homemaker.

(Major Retired) Edward H. Cummings, II, 92, of Elizabethtown, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012, in Aiken, S.C.

Edward was born in Dedham, Mass., on July 25, 1919. He resided at his home at 510 N. Main St. in Elizabethtown for 46 years with his beloved wife, Wanda Catherine Cummings.

Danny Ray Cantwell, 58, of Radcliff, died Thursday, March 15, 2012.

He was a retired teacher with Hardin County Schools. Danny attended Stithton Baptist Church. Dan was a member of Hardin County Sportsman Lake, was an avid fisherman, a collector of Ford 8N tractors and a dedicated Louisville Cardinal fan.

Margaret Tom Higdon, 88, of Clarkson, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Grayson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Sept. 1, 1923. She was a member of the Baptist faith and he retired from Kane Manufacturing.

He was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas G. Higdon; her father, James Powell; and her mother, Joana Clemons.

Charlie Carol Turner, 71, of Magnolia, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

He professed faith in Christ at an early age, was a Baptist in faith and attended Mount Zion Separate Baptist Church near Magnolia. A very avid University of Kentucky basketball fan, he was retired from Crucible Magnetics after more than 35 years of service and formerly worked for the Kentucky State Highway Department.

He was preceded in death by his father, Orville Ellis Turner.

William Edward “Bill” Ray, 80, of Vine Grove, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

Nancy Elaine Ray, 81, of Vine Grove, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray were members of St. Brigid Catholic Church in Vine Grove. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid University of Kentucky fan.

David Wendell Waddell, 48, of Clarkson, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at his residence.

He was an assembly worker at Ford Motor Co. and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kermit Wendell Waddell.

Survivors include his mother, Judy Clemons (Tommy) of Clarkson; a sister, Jill Asher (Bart) of Midway; two nieces, Heidi and Sarah Kate Asher; a nephew, Grant Asher; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Roger Cartwright, 63, of Elizabethtown, passed away Monday, March 12, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Edna Stewart Cartwright; two brothers, James Edward and William Joseph Cartwright; and a sister, Joy Barnett.

He was a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethtown and he worked for Coca-Cola for 37 years. He served 15 years in the Hardin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary where he was Auxiliary president for one year.
