  • Herman Smith

    Herman Smith, 62, of Radcliff, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    Sgt. 1st Class Smith retired from the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam and the Gulf War.

    He is survived by his wife, Ruth Smith of Radcliff; three sons, Herman R. (Monique) Smith of Radcliff and Carl J. (April) Smith and Germain (Lila) Smith, both of Elizabethtown; two daughters, Angela D. Jones of Elizabethtown and Evelyn (David) Woofter of Radcliff; four sisters, six brothers, 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

  • Nannie P. Fible

    Nannie P. Fible, 102, of Radcliff, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center.

    She was a native of Hardin County, a member of Rineyville Baptist Church and the last surviving member of the 1929 class at Rineyville High School, which was the first graduating class.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L Fible Sr.; and her parents, Ready Bruner and Birdie Kerfoot Bruner Wallace.

    Margaret Ann Daugherty, 62, of Leitchfield, died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

  • Preston F. VanName III

    Preston F. VanName III, 65, of Rineyville, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.

    A graveside service was Wednesday in Elizabethtown City Cemetery with Dr. B.T. Bishop officiating.

    Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown handled arrangements.

  • Virginia ‘Jenny’ Skaggs Holbert

    Virginia “Jenny” Skaggs Holbert, 70, of Elizabethtown, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her home.

    She was a member of Roundtop Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her father, Martin V. Skaggs; a son, Troy Holbert; and a sister, Patsy Roy.

    Survivors include two children, Sheila Durbin and Gregory Holbert; her mother, Viola G. Sutherland Skaggs; a sister, Betty Brooks; a brother, Tommy V. Skaggs; three grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Mike Sanford.

  • Druescilla Altsman

    Druescilla Altsman, 87, of Radcliff, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at her home.

    Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Klemenz; and a son, Richard Altsman.

    The funeral was Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funreal Home in Vine Grove with burial in North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff.

  • Douglas Craig Horn

    Douglas Craig Horn, 63, of Aurora, Colo., died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at The University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora.

    Born in Toledo, Ohio, Doug grew up in Littleton, Colo., where he attended Littleton High School, later moving with his family to Elizabethtown. He graduated with the EHS Class of ’67. 

  • Loyce Graff

    Loyce Graff, 76, of Radcliff, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at North Hardin Health and Rehabilitation Center in Radcliff.

    She retired from North Hardin High School where she worked as a clerk.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis C. Graff.

  • Morgan French

    Morgan French, a veteran of World War II and the Korean War, survivor of 40 months as an American POW in Japanese custody, loving husband and devoted father, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, in Plano, Texas. He was 92 years old.

  • Ronald Gene ‘Ron’ Connor

    Ronald Gene “Ron” Connor, 70, of Brandenburg, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at his residence.

    Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Osborne and Kristin Humphrey; and three sons, Michael Connor, Rodney Connor and James Connor.

    The funeral was Thursday at Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
     

  • Lucille Priddy

    Lucille Priddy, 76, of Upton, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She was a homemaker.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hester Priddy; and her parents, Elbert and Anna Mae Fields Carby.

    She is survived by three sons, Hank Priddy of Munfordville, Carl Priddy of Upton and Murl Priddy of Sonora; two daughters, Joann Priddy and Betty Jo Priddy, both of Upton; two sisters, Mary Wooden of Upton and Edith Riggs of Hodgenville; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

  • Gene Franklin Nichols

    Gene Franklin Nichols, 68, of Elizabethtown, died Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at his residence.

    A native of Cecilia, he served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Catherine Bryan; and his parents, Roy and Ella Jordan Nichols. 

  • Bessie Flinn Howard

    Bessie Flinn Howard, 104, of Columbus, Ga., died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at her home.

    Survivors include three children, Betty Ann Howard Hilliard, Albert O. Howard Jr. and Martha Mae Howard LeMaire.

    The funeral was Wednesday at Central Baptist Church in Phenix City, Ala. Interment was in Girard Cemetery.

    Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Phenix City handled arrangements.

  • Alesa Logsdon

    Alesa Logsdon, 57, of Glendale, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Lawanna Harris Wilbanks; and two brothers, Randy and Dale Wilbanks.

    Survivors include her husband, Michael Logsdon Sr.; three children, Michael Logsdon Jr., Travis Logsdon and Sharon Artz; two brothers, Rodney and Danny Wilbanks; and four grandchildren.

    The funeral was Wednesday, Feb. 29, at Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial was in Elizabethtown City Cemetery.

    Alesa Logsdon, 57, passed away Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at Kensington Manor.

  • Leck Craycroft

    Leck Craycroft, 91, of Brandenburg, died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, at his residence.

    Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ona Mercer Craycroft.

    The funeral was Tuesday at the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg with burial in Cap Anderson Cemetery.

  • Zetta Walls

    Zetta Walls, 94, of Leitchfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012.

    Survivors include three children, Johnny and Donny Walls and Fredia Basham; 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

    Watson & Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield handled arrangements.

    Donna Jean Basham, 32, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012.

    She was a devoted wife and daughter and an inventory manager for WIS International.

  • Randall T. Day Sr.

    Randall T. Day Sr., 65, of Sonora, passed away Thursday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Day; and his parents, Ernest and Pauline Womack Blair.

    Survivors include his wife, Nealla Blair Day; two sons, Marty Blair and Lewis Day; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

    The funeral was Tuesday in the chapel of Dixon-Atwood & Trowbridge Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Burial was in Sonora Cemetery.

  • Raymond Frederick Cothern

    Raymond Frederick Cothern, 69, of Boston, Ky., died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital.

    Survivors include his half sisters, Penny Emerson, Patty Sullivan, Sue Hack and Sandy Riggs; and half brother, Mark Cothern.

    The funeral was Tuesday at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with burial Wednesday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.
