  • Frank Charles Ruff

    Frank Charles Ruff, 66, of Eastview, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2012, at his residence. 

    He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank C. and Agnita French Ruff Sr.; and a daughter, Rhonda Ziegler.

    He is survived by two daughters, Andrea Belcher of Eastview and Christy Hood of Bloomfield; a sister, Janet Rose of Rockford, Ill.; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    A memorial service is from 5 to 8 p.m. May 9 at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown.

    Genevieve Hughes Page, 85, of Bonnieville, died Thursday, April 19, 2012, at her residence.

    Survivors include her husband, Parker Page; one daughter, Cherie Sanders; and two sons, Phil Hester and Larry Ice.

    The funeral ]\was Sunday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with burial in Munfordville City Cemetery.

  • Darrow O. Smith

    Darrow O. Smith, 78, of Melbourne, Fla., formerly of Radcliff, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Florida.

    Survivors include a sister, Lorene Aldrich.

    A graveside service was held Thursday, April 26, at North Hardin Memorial Gardens in Radcliff.

    Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff handled arrangements.

    Scott Allen Morgan, 39, of Boston, Ky., died Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Life Care Center in Bardstown.

    Survivors include his father, James Robert Morgan.

    The funeral was Saturday at Kappel Funeral Home in Boston with burial in Little Brick Cemetery in Boston.

    A Masonic service was held Friday at the funeral home.

  • Wanda Louise Wenrick

    Wanda Louise Wenrick, 76, of Elizabethtown, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    She was a native of Pulaski County and attended Grace Heartland Church. She loved playing bingo and was known for her sweet smile and her giggle.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Wenrick Jr.; her parents, Dault and Grace Abbott Thacker; three brothers, Joseph Thacker, Harold Thacker and Everett Thacker; and one sister, Brenda Smith.

  • Dorothy Jean Hilton Hill

    Dorothy Jean Hilton Hill, 82, of Cecilia, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at her residence.

    She was a native of Hardin County and a retired child care provider for many children. She was a member of Blue Ball Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, S.B. Hilton Sr. and Iva Nettie Hicks Hilton; a sister, Helen Rose Allen; four brothers, James Hilton, Kenneth Hilton, S.B. Hilton Jr. and Marvin Hilton; one son-in-law, Danny Bewley; one daughter-in-law, Linda Hill; and a granddaughter, Whitney Hill.

  • Robert ‘Bob’ Whelan

    Mr. Robert “Bob” Whelan, 83, of Brandenburg, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. 

    He was a retired supervisor for Olin Chemical Co.

    Anna Florine “Flo” Berry, 92, of Radcliff, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at a nursing home in Fairborn, Ohio.

    She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Wilbur L. Berry; her parents, Nellie and Fred Morgan; three brothers and four sisters.

  • Helga S. Carter

    Mrs. Helga S. Carter, 86, of Fern Creek returned to her Heavenly Father on April 16, 2012, at her daughter’s home.

    Mrs. Carter was in the Shaklee business and a homemaker.

    Those who preceded her in death include her husband, Billy Carter; and her parents, Alfred and Gertrude Bursy.

    She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Barbara Carter and Joyce Wormel (Troy); and three grandchildren, Elissa, Austin and Justin.

  • Joseph L. Johnson

    Joseph L. Johnson, 15, of Clarkson, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.

    He was born May 18, 1996, and was a student. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.

    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lenuel and Ruby Bruner; and a grandfather, Pat Johnson.

    Survivors include his parents, Ron and Mona Johnson of Clarkson; and his grandmother, Anna Johnson of Leitchfield.

  • Jo Rita Perkins Harbin

    Jo Rita Perkins Harbin, 65, of Hodgenville, passed away Monday, April 16, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She was owner and operator of Bell’s Grocery in Hodgenville for many years and a former employee of Cracker Barrel in Elizabethtown.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, William Edsel Harbin; her parents, Lawrence A. Perkins and Evelyn Roberta Sidebottom Perkins; and a brother, Elmer Perkins.

  • Bobbye Kinser

    Mrs. Bobbye Kinser, 80, of Dahlonega, Ga., passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Gracemont Assisted Living and Memory Care in Cumming, Ga.

    Mrs. Kinser was born in Vine Grove on Oct. 9, 1931. She had lived in Lumpkin County since 1998. Mrs. Kinser was devoted to children and spent 40 years teaching Sunday school at churches that she attended.

    Mrs. Kinser was the daughter of the late Kenneth Adkins and Ernestine Smith Adkins; and also was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald Adkins and Jim Adkins.

    Michael Elliott Speck, 76, of Elizabethtown, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital after a 15-year battle with cancer.

    He was born Oct. 14, 1935, in Bowling Green.

    Frances Piper, 87, of Munfordville, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at her residence.

    The funeral is at 1 p.m. CDT Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with Brother Stephen Copelin officiating. Burial follows in Smith Cemetery in Munfordville.

    Visitation continues at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Georgia Lee Price Beard, 69, of Louisville, died Saturday, April 14, 2012.

    She is survived by her husband, Walter L. Beard.

    The funeral was Tuesday morning at Arch L. Heady Russman & Sons Funeral Home, 1201 E. Oak St., Louisville. Burial was in Upton Cemetery.

    Pearl Horn, 63, of Cecilia, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. 

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Horn; and her parents, Hurbert and Alberta Horn Coogle.

    She is survived by a son, Jeffery Sheroan of Cecilia; three daughters, Amanda Lamb and Shelly Barrow, both of Cecilia, and Heather Howe of Sonora; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

    Mary Catherine Thornsberry, 76, of Culvertown, died Saturday, April 14, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She is survived by three sons, Harold Dennis (Patty) Thornsberry, Allen Bruce (Carla) Thornsberry and Charles Anthony “Tony” Thornsberry; and four daughters, Beverly Diane (Mike) Cecil, Cathy Denise (Terry) Sidebottom, Janet Renee (Danny) Boone and Theresa Faye “Terri” (Wendy) Kennedy.

    Samuel Porter, 78, of Louisville, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012.

    He is survived by his wife, Laura Bowles Porter; four daughters, Sandra (Ronnie) Hagan, Rhonda (Donnie) Gribbins, Toni (Daniel) Karrer and Candy (Michael) Wigal; and three sons, Joseph (Lana) Porter, James Porter and George (Tosha) Wood.

    The funeral was Tuesday at Arch L. Heady Funeral Home in Okolona. Burial was in Brookland Cemetery.

    Henry E. “Tater” Pike, 85, of Payneville, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Ind.

    He is survived by seven children, Edwin “Edd” (Mary Frances) Pike, David (Teresa) Pike, Ron (Jill Troidl) Pike, John “Bernie” Pike, Monica Ann (Gary) Lytle, Leslie (Angela) Pike and Andrea Lea (Greg) Pike-Goff.

    The funeral was Tuesday, April 17, at St. Mary Magdalen Church in Payneville.

    Monterey Helm Olds, 71, of London, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Compassionate Care Center of Richmond after a lengthy battle with cancer.

    She was a native of Hart County, a longtime resident of Elizabethtown and a member of Lyons Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville. 

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Dean Olds; her parents, Elbert and Ethyl Elkins Helm; and a brother, Robert D. Helm.
