Elsie Mae Skaggs, 96, of Big Clifty, died Friday, April 6, 2012, at Grayson Manor Nursing Home.

She was born Oct. 12, 1915, was a member of Big Clifty Methodist Church, the Eastern Star and East Grayson County Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was a Kentucky Colonel. She was a doll collector, retired store owner and housewife.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Augusta Skaggs; her parents, Ben and Lidia Hart Tackaberry; a son, David Augusta Skaggs; and brothers and sisters.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Doris Jane Nall, 74, was called to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, after a battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. Doris was owner and operator of Cardinal Draperies for more than 20 years. She sponsored the Cardinal Little League team in the EABC Peanut League for many years. Doris and her husband operated a food pantry for eight and a half years in Elizabethtown, Vine Grove and Radcliff.

Alice L. Gunter, 85, of Hodgenville, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at The Bridge at Monteagle in Monteagle, Tenn.

Alice was bon Nov. 17, 1926, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of the late Earl C. and Edith P. Allnutt Lewis. She graduated from high school in Buckner, Mo., and married Dorman K. Gunter on Aug. 31, 1945, in Independence, Mo. They were married for 66 years.

Jewell Evette Embry, 57, of Bonnieville, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.

Survivors include her husband, William “Joe” Sallee Sr.; and a stepdaughter, Christy Sallee.

The funeral was Saturday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with interment in Gaddie Cemetery in Bonnieville.

Shirley Elaine Abrahamson, 65, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at her home.

She was a native of Hardin County and a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses. She volunteered at the women’s prison in Kentucky and was a volunteer minister at Hardin County Detention Center. She loved gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Herbert and Ruth Christine Bradley.

Neal Taylor Kindervater, 89, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

He was a native of Clifton Forge, Va., and a flight navigator in the Naval Air Corps during World War II. He worked for Jenkins Essex Co., was president of Kindervater and Layman Developers and was a construction designer. He was an avid golfer and a longtime supporter of University of Kentucky athletics. He was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, a beloved father and grandfather, an outdoorsman and was active in many civic organizations.

Shirley Ann Sheppard Adcock, 74, of Rineyville, died Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at her residence.

She was a native of Central City in Muhlenburg County, a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Radcliff and a retired cook for Howevalley Elementary School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Zelba and Julia Virginia Devine Sheppard; two sisters, Julia Virginia Sheppard and Ida May Wood; and two brothers, Arthur Berry and Billy Ray Sheppard.

John M. Blandford, 58, of Louisville, passed away Monday, April 2, 2012, at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital.

He was born Feb. 25, 1954, in Fort Knox. He was a CPA for Stephens & Lawson PSC.

He was preceded in death by his father, William E. Blandford.

He is survived by his mother, Mary Jo Blandford; a brother, George (Debbie) Blandford; and three sisters, Karen Blandford, Janice Blandford (Thadeus Tarpey) and Renee (Tommy) McCoy.

A memorial service was Thursday, April 5, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven in Louisville.

Cynthia K. Jaggers, 39, of Munfordville, died Monday, April 2, 2012 as a result of a motorcycle accident.

Survivors include her parents, James O’Neal and Shirley Oiler O’Neal; and a son, Cody Jaggers.

The funeral was Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with burial in Center Point Cemetery in Munfordville.
