    Dennis William House Sr., 55, of Muldraugh, passed away Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville.

    Survivors include his loving wife, Debbie House; and two children, Tabatha Cox and Dennis House Jr.

    The funeral was Wednesday, Jan. 19, at Coffey & Chism Funeral Home in Vine Grove with Pastor Brett Brown officiating. Burial was in Bethany Cemetery.

  • Nelson Tyrone Collins

    Nelson Tyrone Collins, 42, of Mount Jackson, Va., formerly of Boston, Ky., died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, in Norfolk, Va.

    He was a self-employed businessman and was a Navy veteran of Operation Desert Storm. He was a 1986 graduate of Nelson County High School and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church in Boston, Ky.

    Retired Lt. Col. John A. Campbell died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at North Hardin Nursing Home in Radcliff.

    Survivors include his wife, Dillie Campbell.

    Roy Allen Brawner, 65, of Eastview, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    He was a native of Hardin County and a member of Glendale Christian Church, where he recently served as the building superintendent for the church expansion. He was a member of the Glendale Lions Club, Glendale Volunteer Fire Department and was one of the originators of the Glendale Crossing Festival.

    He also was a lifelong farmer and a loving husband, father and granddad/papaw Roy.

    Roy Allen Brawner, 65, of Eastview, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011.  The funeral is at 2 p.m. today at Glendale Christian Church with burial in Glendale Christian Church Cemetery. Visitation continues at 10 a.m. today at the church. Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown is in charge of arrangements.

  • Herman Williams

    Herman Williams, 92, of Clarkson, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Springview Health & Rehab.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Viola Walters Williams.
    The funeral was Tuesday at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church with Brothers Jerry Weedman and Hank Gibson officiating. Burial was in Gibson Cemetery.
    Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson and handled arrangements.

  • Sandy Embry Urbahns

    Sandy Embry Urbahns, 58, of Radcliff, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Norton Healthcare Pavilion in Louisville.
    She was formerly employed by WQXE radio, the Radcliff Leader; Meade County Messenger and, for more than 20 years, was the office manager of the Radcliff/Fort Knox Tourism Commission. A lifelong resident of Radcliff, she volunteered for numerous local organizations, including North Hardin HOPE, Hardin County Playhouse, Ancestral Trails Historical Society and the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Team.

    Wilma B. Smiley, 85, of Lodiburg, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at her residence.
    Survivors include her children, J.E. Smiley, Ray Smiley, Connie Laslie and Bonnie French. 
    The funeral was Tuesday at Walnut Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
    Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington handled arrangements.

  • Juanita Cecil

    Mrs. Juanita Cecil, 98, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Sunrise Manor Healthcare Facility in Hodgenville.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Mose; a grandson, Eric; and a sister, Elzena.
    Survivors include four sons, Bernard Cecil (Cleo), Reginald Cecil (Mary), Gary Cecil (Rose) and Mose Jr. (Linda); a stepson, Billie Frank Buckner (Hattie); a daughter, Anita Bradley; a stepdaughter, Jackie Woods; 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

    Naaman H. Board of Ekron died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital in Hardinsburg.
    Survivors include his wife, Linda L. Board; and a daughter, Kim Gibbons of Hodgenville.
    The funeral was Monday at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington with burial in Horsley Cemetery.

    Leora Agnes Dennis, 93, of Leitchfield, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center.
    Survivors include three sons, Donnie Dennis, Lloyd Dennis and Richard Dennis.
    The funeral was Monday at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

  • Robert Wayne ‘Bob’ Best

    Robert Wayne “Bob” Best, 72, of Elizabethtown, departed from his earthly life to be with his Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at University of Louisville Hospital.

    He was a native of Hardin County and an active and lifelong member of St. James Catholic Church. He was a 1958 graduate of Elizabethtown Catholic High School and retired after 32 years from the City of Elizabethtown, where he was the superintendent of the water plant, waste water and maintenance.
