    Douglas Michael Elliott, 46, of Florida, formerly of Radcliff, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, Fla.

    He was preceded in death by his mother.

  • Edgar Wesley Monroe

    Edgar Wesley Monroe, 70, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, in Louisville

    He worked as a detective in the Elizabethtown Police Department, helping to establish the detective department in that agency.  

    Survivors include his wife, Pat R. Monroe; and three daughters, Elisa Carrithers, Laura Decker and Marguerite Lee Young.

    The funeral is at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 7, at Hall-Taylor Funeral Home of Taylorsville with interment in Highland Memory Gardens of Mount Washington.

    Mary Alyce Barbour, 105, of Horse Cave, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010. The funeral is at 1 p.m. CST Thursday at Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville with burial in Mount Gilboa Cemetery in Canmer. Visitation is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST Thursday at the funeral home.

  • Shirley Nadine Stillwell

    Shirley Nadine Stillwell, 72, of Mount Sherman, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She was a member of Mount Sherman Mission Church and a homemaker.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, George Franklin and Evelyn Carter Warren; four sisters, Carrie Richardson, Imogene Carter, Nancy Corbin and Geneva Skaggs; and four brothers, Bill Warren, Garnett Lee Warren, Forrester Warren and Dollaby Warren.

  • Harry Edward Conner

    Harry Edward Conner, 66, of Guston, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Norton Hospital, Brownsboro Road, Louisville.

    Mr. Conner was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Brandenburg and the Coast Guard/NOAA. He also served as an electrician in the United States Navy and the United States Coast Guard. 

    Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Oscar and Shirley Mae Schaeffer Conner.

  • Alan Anthony Bernardy

    Alan Anthony Bernardy, 67, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011, at Woodland Terrace Health Care Facility.

    He was a native of Menominee, Wis., a Vietnam War U.S. Army veteran and a Catholic.  He retired from civil service, was a member of the American Legion and was an avid bird watcher.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Sue Dennison Bernardy, in 2008; and his parents, Harold and June Cherney Bernardy.

    He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Rineyville.

    Evelyn Louise Scott, 89, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Kensington Manor.

    She was a native of Hardin County, a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church, the Elizabethtown Women’s Club and the Hardin Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.  She was retired from First Federal Savings Bank.

    She was preceded in death by two husbands, Thomas Wesley Gardner and Charles Nelson Scott; her parents, Arch and Mallie Lawson Larkin; and a son, Thomas W. Gardner Jr.

  • Vonna June Reynolds

    Vonna June Reynolds, 61, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Current River Nursing Center in Doniphan, Mo.

    She was born March 30, 1949, in Manila, Ark., to Troy and Sarah Kathleen Barrett Blackwood.

    She and Daniel Joseph Reynolds Sr. were married July 14, 1984, at Cape Girardeau, Mo.

    Vonna was a graduate of Central High School.

    Mary Claudette Langley, 48, of Muldraugh, passed away Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She was a native of Elizabethtown and was a longtime manager of the Pizza Hut in Muldraugh.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, James Claude and Mary Elizabeth (Buckles) Brewer.

  • Dorothy B. Faulkenburg

    Dorothy B. Faulkenburg, 80, of Lebanon Junction died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville.

    She is survived by one daughter, Mary Brooks; and four sons, Walter, James, Terry and Jerry Faulkenburg.

    The funeral was Monday, Jan. 3, 2011, at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Mike Rodgers officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Gardens in Mt. Washington.

    Kathleen Ransdell Jaggers, 92, of Elizabethtown, formerly of LaGrange and Upton, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    She was a native of Trimble County and a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church. She worked at the Bank of Upton and First Hardin National Bank.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, George T. and Laura Neal Ransdell; her husband of 43 years, Ralph Jaggers, who died in 1983; two brothers, the Rev. John Ransdell and Dr. Neal Ransdell; two sisters, Corinne Gabbard and Mary Armstrong; and a great-grandchild.

    Jennifer G. Addison Lyons, 32, of Brandenburg, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2010.

    She is survived by her husband, Jeremy C. Lyons; three daughters, Bradee Lynn Addison, Mekenzee Mae Dawson and Abbeegale Kay Lyons.

    The funeral was Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, in the chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home in Brandenburg with burial in Parr-Frans Cemetery.

  • William Joseph 'Junior' Miles Jr.

    William Joseph “Junior” Miles Jr., 70, of Bardstown, died Thursday, Dec.  30, 2010, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.
    Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Barbara Thompson Miles; and two daughters, Judy Hornback and Sheila Nutgrass.
    The funeral is at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011, at Mattingly Funeral Home at 195 Holy Cross Road in Loretto with the Rev. Deacon Joseph R. Dant officiating. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery in St. Mary's.
    Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

    Diana June Ryan, 54, of Radcliff, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    Survivors include her husband, Mike Ryan; two sons, Ken M. Spellings and his wife, Tabitha, and Aaron L. Spellings; twograndchildren, Kenneth S. Spellings and Chelsea D. Spellings; and two brothers, Allen Gospich and Steve Gospich Jr.

  • Lenn Lee Nelson

    Lenn Lee Nelson, 82, of Vine Grove, died Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at his home.

    Mr. Nelson was a native and lifelong resident of Vine Grove. He was a dairy farmer and at one time was a forest ranger. He has contributed much to Vine Grove and Hardin County. Lenn Lee was a member of Hardin Fiscal Court, Hardin County School Board and the Hardin Memorial Hospital board. He was a member of many other boards in the community and served as president of many of them. He has received numerous awards and honors for his distinguished service. Mr. Nelson was very active in his church.

    James F. Scott, 86, of Madison, Ind., died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 25, 2010, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

    Scott entered this life on Aug.  8, 1924, in Guston near Brandenburg.
