Fort Knox Federal Credit Union has been nationally recognized by the Credit Union National Association for its renewed focus on member experience.

The credit union was recognized by the national association’s Marketing and Business Development Council at the 26th annual conference. The credit union won three Diamond Awards – two in the complete marketing campaign category and one for digital advertising.

The credit union was selected a winner among nearly 1,100 national entries.

Finding innovative ways to connect with member-owners and creating new digital experiences has generated success and led to this acknowledgment of excellence.

The strategy behind the credit union’s Pay Yourself a Holiday Bonus refinance campaign was to enhance members’ lives and allow them to pursue their holiday goals.

Helping families improve their financial health around the holidays not only made it possible for them to do more during the season, but also allowed credit union staff members to deepen personal relationships with members of the community.

“One of the most rewarding things for me was watching our employees really step up in a big way and dedicate themselves to the process of helping others,” said Eldon Tilley, vice president of marketing for the credit union. “They processed nearly 1,000 holiday bonuses during an already busy loan season to help make holiday dreams come true for so many hard-working families.”

The campaign gave members the opportunity to save on their higher-rate loan payments and receive up to a $250 bonus for refinancing external auto, RV or other consumer loans with the credit union.

The credit union’s second campaign award winner, Simplify Life, offered members a 4.99 percent APR balance transfer for life when they consolidated their bills with the credit union’s credit card.

“We understand the headaches of juggling multiple monthly payments. The Simplify Life campaign gave members the ability to turn all those payments into one simple payment,” Tilley said. “Consolidating high-interest loans onto our low-rate card also gave individuals from across the state an opportunity to get – and stay – ahead of their debt. Providing long-term solutions that enhance our members’ financial lives is what we are passionate about.”

Members who took advantage of the promotion enjoyed zero transfer and zero annual fees and will continue to save significantly on their overall interest payments for the life of the balances transferred.

“One of my favorite stories involved a family that freed up over $8,000 in interest through this promotion. It just shows one of the many ways we give back to members and simplify their lives,” said Kendrick Walker Fort Knox Federal Credit Union brand manager.

Fort Knox Federal’s Visa Platinum Credit Card gives back to members too. The card has been nationally recognized several years in a row by Kiplinger’s for its generous 5 percent cash back rewards on gas.

The credit union’s Take a Summer Break on Your Loan website leveraged the latest in digital technology and interactive tools, creating a seamless experience to help members free up cash.

Members who moved their auto, RV, motorcycle or boat loans to the credit union could enjoy lower-rates and up to 120 days with no loan payments. The promotion saved one local couple enough to take their family on a road trip to Disney World and helped countless others enjoy life more last summer.

“Beyond offering innovative products to our membership, Fort Knox Federal is providing the financial education and tools needed to make more possible in the lives of the hard-working families we serve across the state,” Tilley said.
