Police: Woman stole tools, resold them to pawn shop

A Radcliff woman was arrested Tuesday morning and charged with theft after police say she stole items from Lowe’s in Elizabethtown and then sold them at a Radcliff pawn shop.

Jessica Johnston, 43, is charged with theft by unlawful taking of more than $500 and less than $10,000 for reportedly concealing more than $1,300 worth of Dewalt tool items in bags and then taking the items to a pawn broker in Radcliff, according to an arrest warrant.

She is accused of stealing the items Oct. 26 and pawning them Oct. 28 for $180.

A saw battery and charger have not been recovered, according to a warrant.

Authorities said Johnston was accompanied by a man at Lowe’s and the pawn shop. It is unknown if he has been arrested and he is not identified in the arrest warrant.

Lowe’s still is short $229 and Kwik Cash $180, according to the warrant.

Johnston is being held in lieu of a $5,000 cash bond in the Hardin County Detention Center. She is scheduled to appear this morning in Hardin District Court.
