A Rineyville man will be arraigned in Hardin District Court today on a charge he struck his husband in the head and body with his fists and then struck him with a car as he fled.
Kalvin Nelson, 31, is charged with second-degree assault — a Class C felony punishable by five to 10 years in prison, if convicted.
According to an arrest citation, an argument Sunday night became physical when Nelson “began punching him in the face and body’’ on East Dixie Avenue. The man then fled and as he was running, Nelson is alleged to have struck him in the legs with a vehicle, knocking him to the ground.
The man reportedly suffered a broken right wrist and right ankle, according to the citation. He also has multiple bruises on his face, arms and legs, the citation stated.
Nelson is lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
