Hardin County Schools has established a committee comprised of staff, parents, a Board of Education member and community members to bring a proposed 2020-21 school calendar to the Hardin County Board of Education.
The committee has proposed two calendar options.
The district is seeking the input on those options. Students, parents, staff and other “stakeholders” are asked to go to the Hardin County Schools website (hardin.kyschools.us) and vote for either Option 1 or Option 2. A link to view the options and take a survey can be found under the News and Announcements section of the district website.
There only is one difference between the calendar proposals:
• Option 1 – There is a Professional Learning Day for staff Feb. 12, 2021, that can be used as a make-up day.
• Option 2 – There is a Professional Learning Day for staff Jan. 4, 2021.
The final decision on the 2020-21 calendar is made by the Hardin County Board of Education. The board can choose between the proposed options or can make changes. The survey remains on the HCS website through Nov. 15. The board likely will discuss calendar options at one of its two Nov. 21 meetings.
