Hardin County Schools approved a BG-1, a type of Kentucky Department of Education construction document for major projects, for a new Lincoln Trail Elementary School during Thursday’s monthly board meeting. Construction is planned to begin by late April and finish by August 2020.

Construction of the new Lincoln Trail, located near the current school on Bardstown Road, will be managed by Alliance Corp., based in Glasgow. Construction cost for the school is about $17.7 million.

The district also is planning to build and open a new East Hardin Middle School by August 2020. Bids for the new East Hardin will be opened April 11. It will be on New Glendale Road adjacent to the new Kentucky State Police Post 4 headquarters.

E’town Softball Field House. At a special called board meeting Thursday night, Elizabethtown Independent Schools approved a $1.4 million bid to build a softball field house that will begin in April and is expected to be completed in late October.
