The United Way of Central Kentucky is seeking people to help the community while bringing in an income.
The organization has four openings in the service area in its Volunteer in Service to America program, also known as VISTA. The program offers year-long service positions in agencies partnered with the United Way for a stipend.
AmeriCorps, the corporation for national community service, administers the program.
AmeriCorps leader Medley Byers said the 12 VISTAs last year provided about $1.2 million in resources.
