Wednesday was the day customers across the nation were called to support Chick-fil-A.
That support lingered Thursday and could mean a long-term sales boom for the restaurant on North Dixie Avenue in Elizabethtown.
Local owner Chris Flanagan estimated at 2 p.m. Thursday sales were about 25 percent higher than typical.
Even that figure fell short of the more than 5,000 chicken sandwiches and other items sold Wednesday when sales surpassed all records since the restaurant opened in 2004.
“It was insane,” he said.
